Winter Reading Challenge 2025 For Ages 0-3

Montgomery County Public Libraries' Winter Reading Challenge offers all ages a chance to keep their minds and bodies active this winter with great books and fun activities. Our partner, the Washington Wizards, promote active bodies while MCPL brings you programs, books and more to engage the mind. By logging activities on the bingo board, participants can engage in a community of whole-body health.

Winter Reading Challenge 2025 For Ages 4-12

Montgomery County Public Libraries' Winter Reading Challenge offers all ages a chance to keep their minds and bodies active this Winter with great books and fun activities. Our partner, the Washington Wizards, promote active bodies while MCPL brings you programs, books and more to engage the mind. By logging activities on the bingo board, participants can engage in a community of whole-body health.

Winter Reading Challenge 2025 For Ages 13-17

Challenge your mind and body this winter by completing squares on your bingo board. Complete 8 squares and earn a small prize! Complete the entire board and be automatically entered into a raffle for an Xbox Series S bundle as well as a raffle for 2 tickets to a Wizards game.

2025 Adult Winter Reading Marathon (ages 18+)

Keep your mind active this winter by doing a marathon – without even getting off the couch! Receive a voucher for a free book from the Friends of the Library bookstores when you sign up. Then read for a total of 26.2 hours (26 hours, 12 minutes) to get a reading marathon car magnet and be entered into a raffle for a prize basket! (Vouchers and magnets available while supplies last).

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten (Pre-K)

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten is a fun way to help prepare your child for Kindergarten. For every book you read (yes, repeats count!), your child can color in a shell on the coloring sheet. In addition, anytime you sing a song, do a fingerplay, read a poem, etc., your child can color in a shell for each activity! Participating is easy:
